Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking an Assistant Camp Manager / Relief Manager for a prestigious luxury private wildlife reserve based in the Kalahari. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic hospitality professional who thrives in remote, nature-based environments and is ready to step into a leadership role within a world-class lodge setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Camp Manager with the daily operations of the lodge to ensure a seamless guest experience
-
Step into the Camp Manager role during periods of relief, ensuring consistent management and leadership
-
Provide exceptional guest service, hosting duties, and ensuring all guest needs are anticipated and met
-
Oversee front-of-house operations, housekeeping, kitchen liaison, and general lodge maintenance coordination
-
Manage stock control and ordering in collaboration with relevant departments
-
Train and support junior staff to maintain high service standards
-
Ensure adherence to the lodges operational standards, health and safety protocols, and environmental practices
-
Liaise with guests on arrivals, activities, and any special requirements
-
Handle guest feedback, resolve issues promptly, and report to senior management
-
Foster a positive and professional working environment across the lodge team
Requirements:
-
Previous experience in a similar role within a luxury lodge or camp environment essential

Strong leadership and communication skills
-
Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail
-
Hands-on, proactive approach to management
-
High standard of guest relations and problem-solving skills
-
Computer literate (MS Office essential; reservations systems experience advantageous)
-
Valid driver’s licence required
-
Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a remote location for extended periods
