Job Summary
Hire Resolve`s client, a leading mining company, is currently seeking a skilled Assistant Logistics Manager to join their team in Kuruman, Northern Cape.
Requirements
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- Degree or Diploma in Logistics or Related Field
- Valid Drivers License
Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations related to bulk and container shipments.
- Process payments to service providers, including ocean freight, inland transport, inspection fees, warehousing costs, etc., as directed by the General Manager.
- Maintain and update shipment records in the companys commodity database.
- Participate in planning and executing the shipping schedule in alignment with production, purchasing, and sales timelines.
- Oversee inventory control and monitoring across various commodities and locations.
- Coordinate with inspection companies to arrange weight and quality surveys.
- Communicate with agents and stevedores regarding cargo loading and unloading operations.
- Perform laytime calculations and handle settlements for dispatch/demurrage in bulk cargo, as well as detention, port storage, and claims for container shipments.
- Investigate claims and recommend preventive measures.
- Inspect cargo conditions, supervise cargo handling during loading or discharging, and liaise with ports, warehouses, agents, and surveyors.
- Undertake business trips and manage any ad-hoc assignments as requested by the General Manager or the company.
