The Company:
Hire Resolve’s Client are a leading mining company operating in the Northern Cape region of South Africa. Our operations include shaft mining and winder systems that are vital to our production processes. We are currently looking for a skilled Shaft and Winder Fitter to join our team and help ensure the smooth operation of our mining facilities.

Job Responsibilities:
– Inspect, maintain, and repair shafts and winding equipment in accordance with established maintenance schedules
– Monitor the performance of shafts and winders, identify any issues or defects, and take corrective actions as needed
– Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, adjustments, and replacements on shaft and winder components
– Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to diagnose and resolve technical problems
– Ensure compliance with safety regulations and practices while working on shafts and winding equipment
– Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery as needed

Requirements:
– Trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner or similar mechanical discipline
– Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Fitter in a mining environment, with specific experience in shaft and winder maintenance
– Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems commonly found in mining shafts and winders
– Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
– Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
– Willingness to work in a remote location and adhere to rotational shift schedules
