About the Role
Our Client in Papua New Guinea is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pediatric Consultant to join their prestigious hospital, Pacific International Hospital (PIH). As a leading medical facility in the region, PIH requires an expert who can provide top-notch care to patients of all ages. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient outcomes while contributing to the growth and development of the hospital’s pediatric department.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to the Medical Director for clinical matters and the Chief Operations Officer/Chief Executive Officer for administrative matters
- Conduct out-patient paediatric clinics
- Responsible for the care of paediatric and neonatal patients admitted to PIH
- Handle after-hour paediatric and neonatology patients presenting to the Emergency Room and referred for specialist opinion by the Medical Officer
- Attend to the newborn at the time of delivery and during the hospital stay
- Providing training and helping introduce new systems for staff and patient management and care in a private hospital setting
- Hold teaching sessions for the nurses and participate in CME sessions
- Provide the patient with reports and discharge summaries promptly, and prepare a case presentation for teaching purposes
- Follow the policies and protocols of PIH and deliver the standard of care as deemed appropriate by the institution
- Participate in business promotional activities, trade shows, seminars, health expos, and talk shows on behalf of PIH
Requirements
- MBBS & Master’s in Child Healthcare
- Minimum 5 years of work experience
Qualifications
- MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degree
- Master’s degree in Child Healthcare from a recognized institution
