Ladismith: SHIFT MANAGER – DAIRY

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Shift Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dairy farm in Ladismith. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our milking parlour and overall dairy production. Your passion for dairy farming, animal welfare, and strong leadership skills make you an ideal candidate for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 13 staff members in and around the milking parlour, including supervision of working hours, training, conflict management, and leave planning.
• Perform Artificial Insemination (AI) as part of our herds breeding program.
• Administer injections, treat sick animals, vaccinations, drips, and general health management, including hoof care.
• Assist with births and calving, as well as aftercare of cows and calves.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the milking parlour.
• Manage milk tanks, including cleaning, transfer, and proper storage of milk.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Dairymaster for data entry and performance monitoring. Valid drivers license.
