Your role and impact

As a technologist: server specialist, you will be taking ownership of the setup, maintenance, security, and administration of critical server environments. Your role will extend beyond server specialisation, encompassing broader IT support functions, system optimisation, and strategic technology solutions to enhance business operations.

Key responsibilities:

Server administration and management

• Configure, maintain, and optimise:
  • vSphere VMware VM Environment
  • Nutanix VM Environment
  • Mail servers (Exchange and associated signatures)
  • Active Directory o Antivirus server
  • Backup servers (Commvault and Veeam)
  • Management servers (ManageEngine)
  • Databases (e.g., MariaDB)
  • Email archiving (Mailstore and Exchange Journaling)
  • 365 Admin portal administration
  • Personnel management server (Sage 300)
  • Mail Filters (preferably Epurifier on Cloud)
  • QlikView / QlikSense Server
• IT infrastructure and system support
  • Monitor system performance, security, and backups
  • Assist with network administration, IPT/VOIP, and PABX-related technologies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues
  • Research and implement new platforms to drive operational efficiency
  • Support cross-functional technology projects and system upgrades

What you bring to the team

• Minimum requirements:
  • Grade 12 certificate (or NQF 4 equivalent)
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in operating systems and server administration
  • A++ certification
  • Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English
  • Knowledge of IPT/VOIP and PABX-related products
• Preferred qualifications and experience:
  • Strong background in network system platforms and underlying architecture
  • Hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, system security, and cloud solutions
  • Exposure to various IT support functions beyond server specialisation
• Key skills and attributes:
  • Analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Proactive and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Self-motivated with a high sense of responsibility
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
