About the Role
The Civil / Structural Engineer (Site) will provide on-site technical oversight of all civil and structural construction activities for utility-scale Solar PV projects, ensuring compliance to IFC drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor construction of platforms, roadworks, stormwater drainage systems, and trenching activities.
- Ensure civil works comply with approved IFC drawings, geotechnical recommendations, and project standards.
- Verify compaction, grading, and material quality through site inspections and test reviews.
- Approve earthworks, foundations, and structural elements for compliance with IFC documentation.
- Review redlines, field changes, and ensure alignment between design intent and installed conditions.
- Identify and resolve non-conformances in collaboration with EPC and civil subcontractors.
- Support preparation and verification of civil turnover documentation required for PAC and COD milestones.
- Validate as-built drawings, test results, geotechnical reports, and drainage compliance records.
- Participate in punch-list development, close-out, and handover sequencing.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and structural teams to resolve site civil issues.
- Provide daily/weekly progress reporting, inspection notes, and quality observations.
- Maintain accurate site records including test results, inspections, NCRs, and approvals.
Requirements
- BSc / BTech in Civil Engineering (Structural or Geotechnical focus advantageous).
- 10+ years’ experience in civil/structural engineering for infrastructure, industrial, or renewable energy projects.
- Strong experience in earthworks, drainage, roads, trenching, and structural platforms.
- Ability to interpret civil drawings, geotechnical reports, and construction specifications.
