Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Manager for a luxury private game lodge based in the North West. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who can ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the property, while effectively managing the housekeeping team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect guest rooms before arrival to ensure all housekeeping duties have been satisfactorily completed (dusting, vacuuming, polishing, correct placement of items, functional lighting, hot water availability, etc.)

• Oversee daily cleaning of guest rooms to maintain standards

• Personally check and restock mini bars each morning prior to guests return from game drives

• Regularly verify correct execution of first and second turndowns, including romantic turndowns

• Supervise laundry operations and ensure housekeeping staff perform duties correctly

• Manage stock control, ordering, and distribution of housekeeping supplies

• Conduct stock takes of all housekeeping items, including linen and towels, to maintain adequate inventory

• Monitor maintenance issues in rooms and report to management and maintenance manager

• Ensure proper use and maintenance of laundry and housekeeping equipment, providing training as necessary (washing machines, tumble dryers, irons, vacuum cleaners, etc.)

• Ensure senior staff accommodation is cleaned thoroughly, including light daily cleaning and deep cleaning on a weekly basis

• Oversee staff laundry, ensuring no damage occurs to staff or guest items

• Professionally correspond with suppliers via telephone and email

• Motivate, monitor, and discipline housekeeping staff as required

• Maintain cleanliness of all areas under the housekeeping department, including guest rooms, public areas (reception, main lodge, gym, spa, curio shop)

• Perform phone divert and sherries duties according to roster

• Assist other departments as reasonably required
