Family-founded business with interests in retail and commercial property investment is are seeking an experienced and reliable Senior Accounts & Administration Officer to oversee our accounting functions and provide leadership in day-to-day administration. The successful candidate will manage financial reporting, ensure compliance, internal audit investigations, streamline administrative operations, and support management with data-driven insights and control. ⸻ Key Responsibilities Accounting & Finance • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reports. • Oversee monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and trial balances. • Process supplier invoices, payments, and manage cash flow. • Handle VAT, PAYE, and statutory returns. • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. • Liaise with external auditors, banks, and tax consultants. Administration & Operations • Supervise and support administrative staff. • Ensure smooth running of office operations and internal communication. • Manage contracts, insurance policies, and company documentation. • Support HR functions such as payroll processing, leave management, and staff records. • Oversee procurement and supplier relationships. ⸻ Requirements • Diploma or Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration. • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role. • Strong working knowledge of Pastel / Sage / QuickBooks / MDA or similar systems. • Excellent Excel and reporting skills. • Good understanding of SARS and labour compliance. • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and organisational ability. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. ⸻ Preferred Attributes • Experience in multi-entity or group structures. • Exposure to property, retail, or hospitality industries advantageous. • Leadership qualities and initiative to streamline processes. ⸻ Remuneration Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
