An educational entity is looking for a Financial Administrator on a 5-month contract. As the Financial Administrator you will provide financial and administrative support to the Financial Controller to ensure accurate and reliable financial data is produced at all times.
 
The Financial Administrator support the Financial Controller in managing and enhancing financial controls, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of key information. This includes assisting with the preparation of the annual budget, monthly financial reports, annual financial statements, and overseeing cash flow management. Additionally, you`ll help maintain ledger accounts and streamline accounting processes.
 

Duties:

  • Assist in the preparation of Management Accounts.
  • Prepare and reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts and balance sheet accounts.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial and spend reports.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date reconciliation of all management accounts.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate systems and internal controls to safeguard financial integrity.
  • Prepare detailed analyses of management accounts, highlighting key variances from the budget for inclusion in the monthly finance reports.
  • Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring that all payments are made in accordance with company terms and conditions.
  • Support the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit.
  • Comply with the financial policies and procedures set by the finance department.
  • Professionally manage communications with customers regarding account matters.
  • Ensure that invoices are issued on time and within approved timelines.
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding payments for invoices.
  • Provide financial guidance to staff on operational activities, helping them understand the financial implications of their actions.
  • Ensure the organization’s compliance with statutory and regulatory financial requirements.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for improvement in management reporting and compliance.
  • Maintain the ability to interpret and explain the organization’s financial position clearly and effectively at all times.

Qualifications:
Completed Financial Qualification
 
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in a similar role
Sage experience is advantageous
Strong excel experience is required
