Midrand: IT Manager

Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. IT Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement IT strategies and policies that align with the organizations goals. Plan and manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and expenditures. Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the organizations IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and hardware. Ensure the availability, performance, and security of IT systems and applications. Project Management: Manage IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and specifications. Coordinate with other departments to understand their technology needs and deliver solutions. Cybersecurity: Implement and manage cybersecurity measures to protect the organizations data and IT assets. Monitor and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities. Vendor and Asset Management: Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, ensuring optimal performance and value. Oversee the procurement and lifecycle management of IT assets. Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, addressing and resolving technical issues in a timely manner. Ensure effective helpdesk operations and user support services. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure IT operations comply with relevant regulations and standards. Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, processes, and procedures. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; masters degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) preferred. Experience: 12-15 years of experience in IT management or a similar role. Technical Skills: Proficiency in IT infrastructure management, network administration, cybersecurity practices, and various software and hardware technologies. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Project Management: Experience with project management methodologies and tools. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to resolving technical issues.
