The position requires energy and a friendly, customer focused disposition. The ideal candidate will be experienced, presentable and hospitable hotelier with a good understanding of the housekeeping operations of a hotel. They should have experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel environment of a similar size property. Someone who is systems driven and is proactive and gets things done. Key Responsibilities: • Ensure that the daily housekeeping and laundry operations run smoothly and that guests are satisfied. • Training and motivating of staff • Scheduling of staff and ensuring efficient use of departmental resources. • Oversee staff on a daily basis • Working with hotel guests who have specific housekeeping needs • Coordinating housekeeping needs with other hotel department managers • Ensure compliance with hygiene and cleanliness standards of the hotel • Conduct daily room checks • Ensure cleanliness of all public areas. • Purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment • Managing housekeeping stock levels and storerooms. Requirements: • Strong Leadership Skills • Customer service oriented • High Level of responsibility and accountability • Strong management, communication and organisational skills • Attention to detail Remuneration: • This is a live in position, includes a meal on duty • Company Provident Fund Contribution (7% of Basic Salary) • Company contributes 50% of medical aid premium through Momentum
