Job Description
Client Bookkeeping
- Manage daily bookkeeping functions for multiple clients
- Capture financial transactions accurately (sales, purchases, payments, receipts)
- Process bank, credit card, and petty cash transactions
- Maintain and update general ledgers
Reconciliations
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Reconcile debtors and creditors accounts
- Prepare and reconcile VAT, PAYE, and UIF submissions
Financial Reporting
- Prepare management accounts
- Assist with financial statements preparation
- Provide monthly/quarterly reports as required
- Flag discrepancies and areas needing attention
Compliance & Statutory Submissions
- Process VAT201 submissions
- Assist with EMP201/EMP501 submissions
- Ensure compliance with SARS regulations
- Liaise with SARS where required
Payroll (If applicable)
- Process monthly payroll for assigned clients
- Maintain employee records and statutory compliance
General Support
- Communicate with clients regarding outstanding documents or queries
- Assist accountants and managers with year-end tasks
- Maintain organised and accurate records (digital and physical)
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Bookkeeping/Accounting diploma or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2–5 years bookkeeping experience (preferably in an accounting firm)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Experience on accounting software (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office
- VAT & Payroll experience advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle multiple clients and deadlines
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
