About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Livestock Manager to join our team at Farm Manager SA in Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily management of our livestock operations, ensuring the health and well-being of our animals, as well as maintaining high standards of animal husbandry and farm productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain the health of livestock on-farm
- Implement and enforce biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks
- Manage and maintain equipment, facilities, and infrastructure related to livestock operations
- Conduct regular inspections of farms and pastures to ensure optimal grazing conditions
- Develop and implement strategies for improving animal productivity and reducing waste
Requirements
- Strong agricultural background with experience in senior supervisory roles
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar industry or role
- Excellent management skills, including organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license required for farm travel
Qualifications
- Agricultural Diploma/Degree
- Relevant livestock management or related field qualification (e.g., BSc Agricultural Management)
