Job Description

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 

  • Grade 12 with relevant Qualification.
  • Qualification in Logistics/Supply Chain/Agriculture or Equivalent
  • Experience in the Citrus/Agriculture/Food processing industry will be advantageous

 
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
 

  • Computer skills (MS Office)
  • Able to lead and drive a safety culture.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective handling of detailed information and consistent attention to detail
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multi processes.
  • Team player and able to work under pressure
  • Proficiency in ERP systems

 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS
 
Operations

  • Ensure start-up, operation and shutdown procedures are followed, and related records are completed
  • Ensure the efficient and effective operation in area of responsibility for the shift.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by Management.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day activities in the area per shift.
  • Monitor and control trucks turnaround at loading area.
  • Monitor and manage all in and out stock related to area.
  • Arrange and manage PPECB inspections and documentation.
  • Ensure equipment is well maintained and in good condition.
  • Always ensure to handle equipment & goods in a safe and responsible manner to avoid damages/losses for the company.

 
Quality

  • Ensure that all procedures in the department are followed according to Policies and Procedures and that all required records are completed accurately and timeously, with any deviations reported to management as soon as possible.
  • Coordination and planning operations in the department to ensure smooth operations and minimal effect on overall packhouse productivity.

Compliance

  • Responsible for maintaining high level of quality, safety and hygiene standards throughout responsible area.
  • Oversee that team is adhering to policies and procedures and that health and safety rules are followed.

 
Communication and Reporting

  • Ensure good communication at all levels to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Report any problems or possible defects that can cause downtime or damage immediately to management.

 
Human Resources & Training

  • Manage staff within department that includes maintaining discipline, resource efficient utilization, employment of staff, motivation and reward.

 
General & Off-Season

  • Perform additional tasks as requested by management.
  • Off-season responsibilities may differ based on operational needs
