Job Description
- Trade / B.Tech / B. Degree (Electrical/Mechanical Engineering)
Experience:
- 8 years experience in the heavy earthmoving equipment and mining environment
- 2 years supervisory management (an advantage)
- Experience maintaining rope shovels and electric loaders essential
Specific Knowledge Requirements:
- Computer Literate — MS Excel.
- Customer and Supplier liaison.
- Technical Quality Control.
- Technical Product Advice and Support.
- Parts Sales for Operational Unit (after-market).
Summary Description of Role:
- Provides technical product advice/procedures to all technical functions across the organisation.
- Introduces, monitor and drive field campaigns.
- Assisting colleagues with expert advice relating to maintenance and repair of components.
- Implementing monitoring & checks that new machines are properly assembled and commissioned to meet the customer’s requirements.
- Assisting branch with parts or service advice where equipment is not meeting the customer’s minimum availability targets.
- Aiding in resolving technical matters pertaining to equipment.
- Supporting Branches and Depots to obtain most effective combination of infrastructures, services, manpower, facilities, and equipment.
- Finding and implementing most cost-effective solutions to service, technical and product problems.
- Utilises electronic monitoring systems such as VHMS and Komtrax to provide predictive maintenance service to customers.
- Plans visits and audits to monitor technical compliance & service quality.
- Visits suppliers to inspect components as and when required.
- Investigating validity and conditions of warranty.
- Liaising with the centralised Product Support function with regards to issues & problems.
