About the Role

Were looking for a hands-on, technically skilled Foreman to oversee day-to-day operations in our high-volume Roll Shop manufacturing plant. This is not just a supervisory job its a leadership development opportunity.

This role is earmarked for career progression, ideal for a qualified tradesperson (Fitter & Turner or Boilermaker) who has supplemented their skills with further studies in Production, Engineering, or Industrial Management, and is ready to step into a strategic leadership track.

Youll lead from the floor: managing teams, optimising CNC and mechanical operations, ensuring quality output, and laying the groundwork for future innovation and continuous improvement.

• Supervise and develop shop floor personnel across multiple shifts

• Lead production planning, scheduling, and resource optimisation

• Ensure job adherence and setup efficiency (CNC and conventional machines)

• Implement and enforce health, safety, and quality standards

• Analyse workflow bottlenecks and recommend improvements

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, discipline, and performance tracking

• Work closely with Production Superintendent and Senior Management on reporting and KPIs

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Artisan: Fitter & Turner or Boilermaker (essential)

• Tertiary qualification in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, or similar (preferred)

• 5+ years experience in a Foreman/Supervisory role within a metalworking, CNC machining, or high-volume manufacturing environment

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings

• Proven experience with CNC machinery setup, cutting, drilling, tapping, and welding

• Understanding and implementation of OSH Act and quality management systems

• Familiar with IR procedures and labour law basics

• Proficient in Excel, with experience in Syspro ERP (advantageous)

• Flexible to work day and night shifts (when needed)
