As the operationally involved Accountant , youll be the right hand of the business – owning accounting, reporting, and operational finance. Youll build and implement financial structures that make sense, strengthen controls that actually work, and ensure that the business runs like a well-oiled machine. Key Responsibilities: Take full ownership of financial accounting, reporting, and operational finance. Design and embed fit-for-purpose internal controls and risk management frameworks. Lead month-end close, reconciliations, and management reporting. Oversee inventory valuations, costing, and variance analysis. Prepare year-end audit files and ensure IFRS and tax compliance. Drive process improvements and streamline workflows for efficiency. Use SAP BI (or similar ERP) to translate data into insight and action. Job Experience and Skills Required: CA(SA), registered with SAICA. 35 years post-articles experience in finance/accounting (manufacturing or FMCG preferred). Proven experience implementing controls and documenting financial processes. Strong knowledge of IFRS and ERP systems (SAP experience advantageous). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. High integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset. Strong communication and report-writing ability. Comfortable leading in a fast-paced operational environment – even if the nearest city is a few mountain passes away.
