About the Role
Our Accounting Firm in Plattekloof, Cape Town is seeking a Junior Bookkeeper/Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience and be looking for an opportunity to gain valuable experience and knowledge in a busy and diverse accounting practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurate processing of Pastel income statement and balance sheet items
- Monthly journals and reconciliations of all general ledgers
- Maintain fixed asset registers
- Processing and Reconciliation of customer and supplier ledgers
- VAT Reconciliations
- Salary processing checking, journals and SARS reconciliations
- Income tax calculations, form completions and submission of returns (individuals, companies)
- General assistance to Senior Accountants as required
- Professional communication with colleagues and clients
Requirements
- Accounting/B.Com degree or equivalent (NQF7)
- 1-2 years’ experience -preferable from an accounting firm processive (but not a must)
- Computer literacy – MS Office
- Accounting Software – Pastel
