Vacancy: Assistant Restaurant Manager Job Title: Assistant Restaurant Manager Location: Leeto Restaurant, Paternoster Department: Food & Beverage Reports to: Restaurant Manager Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team at Leeto Restaurant. As part of the renowned 5-star Strandloper Ocean Boutique Hotel, our restaurant welcomes both hotel guests and the public, providing a sophisticated dining experience with exceptional service standards. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring guest satisfaction, managing staff, and maintaining the highest quality in food and beverage service. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in a luxury environment, embraces a yes we can attitude, and demonstrates creativity and innovation in problem-solving and service delivery. Key Responsibilities: Operational Management Assist in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service flow and high guest satisfaction. Maintain and enforce quality and service standards, and adhere to all hotel policies and procedures. Support inventory management, including food, beverage, and equipment, to minimize waste and maintain efficient stock levels. Work closely with other departments, such as kitchen, housekeeping, and front office, to enhance guest experiences. Guest Service Excellence Greet and engage with guests, ensuring an outstanding dining experience from arrival to departure. Handle guest complaints professionally and resolve any service issues in a timely manner, escalating where necessary to the Restaurant Manager. Promote a welcoming atmosphere for both hotel and external guests, focusing on personalized service and hospitality. Staff Supervision & Training Supervise; train, and motivate restaurant staff, ensuring they adhere to service standards and deliver exceptional guest experiences. Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluation of team members. Schedule staff shifts, manage time-off requests, and ensure adequate coverage during peak hours. Financial Management Assist in managing budgets, controlling costs, and identifying opportunities to increase profitability. Process daily transactions, reconcile cash, and oversee billing accuracy. Health; Safety, and Hygiene Ensure that the restaurant complies with local health and safety regulations. Implement and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the dining area and back-of-house. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards. Bar Management o The Assistant Restaurant Manager will also be responsible for managing and overseeing the bar, ensuring it operates smoothly and meets our high standards for service and quality. This includes supervising bar staff, maintaining inventory, and monitoring stock levels to ensure a well-stocked and organized bar. The role involves creating an inviting atmosphere, supporting the team in preparing and presenting a selection of premium beverages, and ensuring the bar adheres to all safety and health regulations. Additionally, the Assistant Restaurant Manager will contribute to the development of innovative drink offerings that enhance the overall dining experience, while providing attentive and personalized service to guests. Qualifications & Skills: Exceptional guest service skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to luxury service standards. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Solid understanding of financialand inventory management. Familiarity with restaurant management software and POS systems. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
