About the Role
The Financial Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Groups full finance function, including accounting, reporting, compliance, and financial planning. This role requires strong analytical ability, strategic insight, and a solid understanding of dealership finance processes. The incumbent will work closely with senior management, providing accurate reporting and financial guidance to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, forecasts, and variance reports.
- Analyse costs, sales performance, and overall group financial health.
- Oversee annual budgeting processes and monitor performance against budgets.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial sustainability.
- Oversee end-to-end finance operations, including accounting, debtors, creditors, and stock control.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, VAT requirements, audit standards, and internal controls.
- Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Support long-term financial planning and decision-making.
- Manage and develop finance department staff, including performance management.
- Liaise with banks, auditors, and other key external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of motor dealership financial processes, stock control, VAT, and retail operational finance.
- Several years experience in a financial management role, ideally within the motor industry or automotive retail environment.
- Proven experience in managing finance teams and working at a senior operational level.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA(SA) or similar professional qualification preferred).
