Job Title: Maintenance and Reliability Manager

We are looking for a suitably qualified, well-motivated, and results-driven candidate to join our team as a Maintenance and Reliability Manager.

Purpose of the Role

You will manage the maintenance of company assets in compliance with all applicable laws and procedures, achieving maximum plant reliability, availability, and efficiency at the lowest overall cost. This role requires providing leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration with operations to ensure seamless integration of maintenance services with short- and long-term facility objectives. You will champion a culture of reliability, minimize unscheduled interruptions, and reduce downtime using continuous improvement tools to optimize physical assets, processes, and strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum 5 years experience in maintenance/engineering roles.

• At least 4 years in a management role.

• Experience managing multiple crafts (predictive maintenance, MRO stock management, etc.).

• Supervisory experience (minimum 2 years).

• Experience in food/feed manufacturing is preferred; solvent-based vegetable oil extraction experience is a plus.

• GCC factory experience is desirable.

Key Duties

• Develop and enhance preventive maintenance programs.

• Use reliability engineering tools to improve asset health and operational reliability.

• Coordinate with plant functions to provide integrated maintenance support.

• Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety and food/feed standards.

• Resolve maintenance priorities and assign tasks to minimize production disruption.

• Lead and develop a team, including coaching, hiring, performance management, and disciplinary actions.

• Serve as a member of the plant leadership team.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

A reputable company in the food manufacturing sector is seeking a Maintenance Foreman to lead its mechanical maintenance team at a key production facility. This role is ideal for a technically skilled and safety-conscious leader with a strong background in plant maintenance and team supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric or equivalent
• Trade Test: Fitter or Millwright, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years experience as an Artisan (Fitter/Millwright)
• 5+ years in a supervisory or foreman role
• Experience with boilers, pumps, and conveyor systems
• Proficient in planned maintenance systems (e.g., Pragma, SAP PM)
• Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills
• Safety- and quality-focused mindset

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and plant equipment
• Lead and manage a team of artisans and maintenance staff
• Plan and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
• Conduct inspections and manage the asset register
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for parts and services
• Provide technical support to operations and ensure minimal downtime
• Report incidents and implement corrective actions
