Job Summary
This role involves the interpreting of GA drawings and technical specifications then preparing detailed project costings, sourcing suppliers of technical componentry and project cost management amongst other things.
Requirements:
Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Costing Management, Engineering, Cost Estimating or related field will be preferred. Proven experience in technical sourcing and costing, preferably in the manufacturing or marine industry. (Aluminium Boats) Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Proficient in sourcing software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of boats and or boat building construction processes is highly advantageous. Knowledge of basic imports and exports advantageous Understanding of Pastel Accounting programmes is advantageous, but not essential Proficiency in MS Office (Email, Word, Excel, Projects, PowerPoint) Sound Technical/ Engineering background Relationship management skills Negotiation skills Project Costing and Management Competencies: Strong relationship-building abilities Systematic attention to detail and accuracy Excellent planning and organizational skills Focused on cost optimization Analytical thinking and problem-solving Commercial effectiveness and business orientation Technical acumen and understanding Professional verbal and written communication skills Experience and Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Costing Management, Engineering, Cost Estimating or related field will be preferred.
