- Formal Tertiary education: Grade 12
- Experience: Education, Community Engagement, Communications, Technical
- Languages: English – Read, write and speak (required)
- Afrikaans – Read, write and speak (optional)
- Drivers Licence: Code 8- (required)
Job Objectives:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Digital Learning Officer with excellent communication & interpersonal skills to own and oversee learner and teacher engagement on our Omang Learning Companion in their assigned school(s) for a year, with contact continuation possible.
Key Objectives include:
- To be hands on at a school in the Odin Education network
- Conduct training where necessary on the One Omang system to key stakeholders
- Drive learner and educator engagement on the Omang device
- Be the point of communication between Odin Education and the school/teachers/learners
- Record keeping and administration as relevant – regular feedback and reporting will be necessary
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Placed full time at a secondary school(s)
- Conduct training on One Omang platform with teachers, administrators & learners where necessary.
- Liaising with teachers on the classroom curriculum and the content they would like to incorporate on the device and helping to digitise content and load it for them
- Coaching teachers on the classroom tools available to them to help them understand the benefit to themselves as well as the learners
- Troubleshoot any system or technical challenges a teacher or learner may come to them with
- Liaising with individual learners to investigate non-usage or low engagement.
- Conducting an Omang device and sim recon (monitoring the condition of the devices, sim activity and verification, stock control, etc.)
- Facilitating our rewards program
- Assisting in the promotion of academic and non-academic campaigns run on the Omang device
- Noting down general feedback and/or suggestions from teachers and learners alike – regular reporting is essential
- Providing ideas on how to increase and drive engagement at the school
- Participate and contribute to a culture which builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and provides exceptional service
- Achieve and maintain agreed upon deployment targets within schedule
- Continuously improve through feedback
