Overview
Our client is seeking a proactive and self-sufficient Short-Term Insurance Manager to lead its short-term insurance operations. This role requires someone confident in managing policies, clients, renewals, claims, and team workflows, all with minimal oversight. You’ll be the go-to person for all short-term insurance matters, ensuring a seamless, client-centric service.
Key Responsibilities
Division Leadership
- Lead and manage the short-term insurance function
- Oversee day-to-day team operations and task allocation
- Ensure internal processes and systems are effective and streamlined
Policy Management
- Oversee the full renewal process, ensuring appropriate and competitive cover
- Handle all amendments, endorsements, and servicing requirements
- Confidently issue policies and apply changes via insurer platforms
Claims Oversight
- Manage claims from initiation to settlement
- Liaise with clients, assessors, and insurers to ensure timeous resolution
- Keep clients informed and supported throughout the claims process
Client Service & Relationship Building
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all short-term insurance clients
- Handle queries, provide support, and deliver a professional, high-touch experience
- Offer non-representative advice where needed
Requirements
- Matric + relevant tertiary qualification
- RE5 certification (Non-negotiable for regulatory compliance)
- 5+ years experience in short-term insurance (personal & commercial lines).
- Experience managing claims, renewals, and policy servicing independently.
- Confident use of insurer portals (e.g. Santam, Hollard, Old Mutual Insure).
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills
