Overview

Our client is seeking a proactive and self-sufficient Short-Term Insurance Manager to lead its short-term insurance operations. This role requires someone confident in managing policies, clients, renewals, claims, and team workflows, all with minimal oversight. You’ll be the go-to person for all short-term insurance matters, ensuring a seamless, client-centric service.

Key Responsibilities

Division Leadership

• Lead and manage the short-term insurance function
• Oversee day-to-day team operations and task allocation
• Ensure internal processes and systems are effective and streamlined

Policy Management

• Oversee the full renewal process, ensuring appropriate and competitive cover
• Handle all amendments, endorsements, and servicing requirements
• Confidently issue policies and apply changes via insurer platforms

Claims Oversight

• Manage claims from initiation to settlement
• Liaise with clients, assessors, and insurers to ensure timeous resolution
• Keep clients informed and supported throughout the claims process

Client Service & Relationship Building

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all short-term insurance clients
• Handle queries, provide support, and deliver a professional, high-touch experience
• Offer non-representative advice where needed

Requirements

• Matric + relevant tertiary qualification
• RE5 certification (Non-negotiable for regulatory compliance)
• 5+ years experience in short-term insurance (personal & commercial lines).
• Experience managing claims, renewals, and policy servicing independently.
• Confident use of insurer portals (e.g. Santam, Hollard, Old Mutual Insure).
• Strong administrative and organisational skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong leadership skills
