Automotive General Manager (Passenger Transport) Pretoria R neg Car allowance Provident fund Performance Bonus Medical aid Requirements Grade 12 Tertiary qualification in Business Administration Commerce Transport Management Or equivalent 5-8 Years Experience 3 Years Experience in unionized Environment Experience in Passenger Transport Industry (especially bus and coach Sector) Good Track record in General Management Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word Key financial management principles and procedures Knowledge of Human resources practices Knowledge of competitive marketing principles Knowledge of technical and engineering practices Knowledge of the bus operations processes and systems Diagnostics Ability Good Reporting Skills Sharp business acumen Responsibilities Perform General Management and control functions of the activities of the Business Unit including but not limited to: Develop, propose and advise on the company’s adoption of BU strategies and policies that are consistent with internal and external needs. Ensure profitability of the BU’s through sound financial management principles and practices. Overseeing and optimizing resources in the planning and scheduling of bus operations to ensure the smooth running of services provided to the community Oversee and ensure efficient utilization of resources in the scheduling and execution of overall maintenance plan for the buses in the BU Oversee effective utilization of stagging in the BU Development and ensure implementation of a marketing strategy to grow existing services and to attract new business. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation applicable to the industry such as but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Job Involves Long Hours and fair amount of stress
