About the Role
A leading commercial risk specialist in Southern Africa is seeking a Head of Pricing to lead pricing strategy across multiple short-term insurance lines, including Commercial, Personal, Marine, Engineering, and Hospitality. This senior role will oversee a team of ~10 and play a key role in supporting the business’s financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, assess, and optimize pricing strategies.
- Lead complex pricing projects and integrate actuarial analysis into decision-making.
- Guide portfolio performance analysis and drive corrective actions.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the pricing team.
- Oversee pricing tools and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
- Provide actuarial support and reporting for strategic initiatives.
- Work cross-functionally with Underwriting, IT, Claims, Sales, and external partners.
Requirements
- University degree (NQF Level 7) in Actuarial Science or related field.
- FASSA qualification or international equivalent.
- 5+ years in short-term insurance pricing, including modelling and deployment.
- Experience in project management and senior actuarial advisory.
