About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Credit Controller to join our team at Smith Garb in Pretoria North. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit management and be able to manage a debtors book of approximately R120m.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a debtors book of approximately R120m
- Download banking and prepare bank recons
- Allocate receipts to debtors accounts
- Bad debt provision and handovers
- Prepare / process debit and credit journal entries
- Prepare daily and monthly cash forecast
- Maintain order release process
- Maintain customer master data
- Maintain solid relationships with customers
- Prepare customer recons on all overdue accounts
- Investigate and resolve all customer queries
- Submit statements, invoices and payments to customers
- Prepare letters to customers when required ie. letters of demand for overdue accounts, rebate letters etc.
- Customer visits as and when required
- Report on monthly collections efforts, overdue accounts, rebates and settlement discounts
- Prepare Powerpoint presentation slides on debtors-related matters for the Finance Steering Committee
- Manage the credit application process, ensuring compliance with internal controls and insurance requirements
- Support the external audit process and ensure compliance with company policies
Requirements
- Completed Matric
- Diploma in Credit Management / similar
- 5 years related experience in a Senior Credit Controller role (preferably within a manufacturing company)
Qualifications
- Diploma in Credit Management / similar
- Relevant certification or qualification in credit management
