Job Description
We are seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Developer to support the development and enhancement of enterprise HR data management solutions. The role focuses on building, maintaining, and optimizing SAP-based applications that support workforce master data management, HR processes, reporting, and self-service functionality across a global enterprise environment.
The successful candidate will work within an Agile development environment, collaborating with technical teams, functional consultants, and HR stakeholders to design and deliver scalable SAP solutions that support complex organizational structures and workforce data processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain SAP ABAP programs, reports, and function modules based on functional specifications.
- Debug and troubleshoot ABAP code, resolving coding defects and performance issues.
- Enhance standard SAP functionality using User Exits, BAdIs, and enhancement frameworks.
- Design and develop interfaces using modern integration technologies such as ODATA, HTTP clients, and web services.
- Build integrations using ALE, file-based interfaces, and other integration technologies where required.
- Design and develop UI components using SAP GUI, Web Dynpro, and Fiori/UI5.
- Collaborate with functional teams and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Create and execute unit test cases and document results within project management tools.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, including interface specifications and development documentation.
- Ensure development work follows clean coding standards, maintainability, and performance optimization practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and workflows, using tools such as JIRA, xRay, and Confluence.
- Provide technical guidance to junior developers and support team members when required.
- Investigate and resolve technical queries from stakeholders and colleagues in a timely and professional manner.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and explore new technologies, including AI tools where applicable.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong SAP ABAP development experience, preferably with a focus on HR systems.
- Knowledge of modern SAP integration technologies including HTTP Client, ODATA, and Web Services.
- Experience developing and maintaining SAP workflows.
- Experience integrating SAP systems with Fiori/UI5 applications.
- Experience working in Agile environments, including tools such as JIRA, xRay, and Confluence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose technical issues and optimize processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, HR stakeholders, and business users.
Advantageous Skills
- Experience with SAP HCM (H4S4) data models.
- Experience working with SAP HANA databases.
- Familiarity with classic integration technologies such as Flat Files and IDocs.
- Experience generating forms using SAP Script, Smart Forms, or Adobe Forms.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Human Resources, or a related field.
- SAP / ABAP / HANA certifications would be advantageous.
