• Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of virtualisation platforms (e.g., VMware, KVM, Hyper-V).
• Support the deployment and management of storage systems, ensuring availability and performance.
• Monitor and maintain the health and performance of virtual machines, storage, and backup systems.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate complex issues to senior engineers when required.
• Support backup and recovery operations using tools such as Veeam.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on infrastructure projects and upgrades.
• Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and processes.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing activities.
• Assist with network configuration and connectivity within virtual environments.
• Ensure all changes follow internal procedures and best practices for security and reliability

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Networking qualifications CCNA/ N+ (or JNCIA/HCNA)
• Virtualization certifications: VCP or RHCSE Desirable but not essential
• 25 years’ experience supporting IT infrastructure, including Linux and/or Windows servers.
• Hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V).
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, DNS, etc.).
• Exposure to storage systems (SAN/NAS) and backup solutions such as Veeam.
• Familiarity with open-source virtualisation platforms or tools.
• Scripting or automation experience with PowerShell or Python advantageous.
