About the Role
Our prominent client, operating in the Dairy industry, is seeking to employ an experienced Cost Controller to their team based in Queenstown. An awesome career opportunity awaits for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our client’s dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost and expense reports for management
- Analyse production performance, trends, and variances
- Monitor and report daily gross profit and margin performance
- Conduct product margin analysis (variable and fixed costs)
- Issue daily operational and financial reports
- Maintain and update product costing (materials, labour, overheads)
- Monitor BOM accuracy and standard vs actual cost performance
- Identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities
- Work closely with procurement, supply chain, and production teams
- Analyse cost movements, material pricing and usage trends
- Support cost forecasting
- Allocate variable and fixed costs to correct cost centres
- Capture daily production transactions accurately
- Participate in annual stock counts with variance analysis
- Perform monthly inventory and cost of sales reconciliations
- Investigate unusual stock or cost fluctuations
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in: Cost and Management Accounting, Finance or related field
- 35 years experience in cost accounting or management accounting
- Dairy manufacturing experience is essential
- ERP system experience (SAP, Sage, Syspro or similar)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work closely with operational teams
- Ability to manage deadlines under pressure
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in: Cost and Management Accounting, Finance or related field
- Completed 35 years of experience in cost accounting or management accounting
