Job Summary
Description:
Hire Resolve`s Client, an exceptional mining company, is currently looking for Drilling & Blasting Superintendent to join their mining company based in North-West.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily drilling and blasting operations to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Plan and coordinate drilling and blasting schedules in alignment with production targets.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of explosives in compliance with regulations.
- Monitor and evaluate drilling and blasting performance and adjust techniques as needed.
- Conduct safety inspections and enforce adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and other relevant South African regulations.
- Train and mentor staff on safe and effective drilling and blasting practices.
- Collaborate with geologists and engineers to optimize blasting designs and reduce waste.
- Oversee the maintenance and calibration of drilling equipment and blasting tools.
- Prepare reports on drilling and blasting activities, including costs, performance, and incidents.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Opencast/Surface blasting ticket
- Competency A Certificate
- 5 years` drilling and blasting experience in Hardrock opencast mining (Chrome or Platinum)
- Extensive experience electronic blasting experience
- Experience on DTH/Ranger & Panthera Drill Rigs
- Experience in managing drilling and blasting operations.
- Valid Driver`s License
