About the Role
Our client, a reputable law firm based in Sandton, is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to join their team. As a key member of the compliance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the firm’s adherence to all relevant laws and regulations. With a strong background in FICA experience, you will play a critical role in maintaining the firm’s compliance posture.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance breaches
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate identified risks
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and reporting of compliance issues
- Maintain accurate records of all compliance-related activities and documentation
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Compliance Officer in the legal industry
- Strong knowledge of FICA regulations and industry standards
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex procedures and regulations
- Strong business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality
Qualifications
- Admission as an attorney in South Africa (advantageous but not required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Law / LLB or related field
