Job Description

• To provide a comprehensive and strategic support to the Divisional Executive by providing day to day oversight of operational matters and supporting the long-term planning, execution and measurement of developmental and deal activity across the division and other Divisions where the Divisional Executive may be allocated a role. •To serve as strategic advisor and counsel to Divisional Executive. • To monitor, evaluate and measure the timeous implementation of strategic objectives in the division and prepare presentations for various boards and committees. • Support the co-ordination, planning and alignment of divisional activities and other Divisions where the Divisional Executive may be allocated a role • To support effective project delivery, monitoring and reporting by coordinating key and strategic projects in line with an approved and user-friendly project management framework/approach, and appropriate reporting templates. • Overseeing consistent resolution and management of complaints, ensuring root cause analysis is performed and identifying trends for business improvement and risk management purposes • At least a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Tax. • A post graduate degree would be an advantage. • M inimum of 5 – 8 years’ experience in field of discipline. • Experience in Financial analysis/Investment Management /State Owned Entities and/or development finance entities and understanding of all applicable regulatory, legislative and governance principles is preferred. • Understanding of sustainable banking imperatives and environmental, social and governance requirements would be an advantage. • Candidate must have an appreciation of the role of the IDC. • Candidate must be familiar with Board submissions and presentations • Exemplary self-leadership. • The candidate must have absolute commitment towards the values of the Corporation. • Experience working in a high-level agile collaborative environment. • Ability to work collaboratively across departments. • Effective, versatile and action oriented. • Excellent communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities • Extremely organized and persistent, with drive and determination to achieve goals. • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Advanced Excel and PowerPoint. • Practical knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage. Financial/ Shareholder Returns • To manage the divisional budget and cost centres. Consolidating budget reports in the Division. • To assist in reporting activities and preparing comparative reports. Internal/ Operational Processes • To assume day-to-day responsibility for projects and tasks and coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives. • To create and maintain cross-departmental relationships • To assess inquiries directed to the Divisional Executive, determine the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individual to ensure resolution achieved. • Participate in strategy formulation and implementation for the division. • Provide advice and support on policy matters. • Assist in the implementation of an effective client experience management framework including oversight of process optimization and digitization, complaints management, culture skills and targeted client service levels. • Assist with reporting and management of MIS on various operational activities. • Monitor and evaluate divisional performance and ensure measure/interventions are supported where intervention required. • To generate ideas for improvement of cross functional processes or resolution of complex problems. • Formulate and prepare speeches and presentations for the Divisional Executive. • Participate in corporate strategic initiatives/projects. • Research and provide specialist knowledge and advice to Divisional Executive relating to all operational aspects. • To research best practice measures both locally and internationally. • To attend meetings as required by the DE. Corporate Strategic Alignment • To participate in and support Corporate Initiatives. • To formulate and implement innovative ways to improve overall service and project delivery. • Monitor and evaluate divisional strategic priorities and preparation of reporting and presentation requirements. Customer Focus and Stakeholder Management • To create relationships with internal and external clients. • To build a network of relationships, across the units, to achieve goals and objectives. • Dealing with client queries as may be required that require policy decisions to protect the organisation against reputation risk and ensure client satisfaction. Learning, Leadership People Growth • Keep up to date with latest developments (conferences and sector forums). • Take responsibility for personal development and growth. • Promote the sharing of knowledge and best practice in the division. • Coaching and mentoring of peers.
