About the Role
As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire packing operation, managing approximately 340 seasonal and 20 permanent workers. You will be in charge of ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the facility, with duties including sorting fruit, packing fruit for both local and export markets, maintaining inventory of packaging materials, coordinating palletization of packed fruit, and conducting quality control over packed fruit.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage operations team to ensure efficient daily operations
- Sort and pack fruit for both local and export markets
- Coordinate with PPECB, export agents, and local marketers for quality control
- Maintain inventory of packaging materials and manage purchasing process
- Oversee palletization of packed fruit
- Conduct regular quality control checks on packed fruit
- Manage loading and unloading of packed fruit to and from Lanko Cooler Chambers
- Manage storage of unpacked fruit in crates and distribution to cooler chambers or Granor Passi
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a similar operations management role
- Experience with managing seasonal and permanent workers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including export agents and local marketers
Qualifications
- Relevant degree or diploma in a related field (e.g. operations management)
