South Africa: Commodity Specialist

Education: Bachelors Degree in Business, Commercial Studies, Supply Chain, Engineering , or a related technical field. Certifications & Licenses: CPM, CIPS, or SAPICS certifications are advantageous. Job Experience & Skills Required: 6 years commercial/technical experience, including 3 years in strategic sourcing within engineering, mining, or manufacturing. Experience with energy, logistics, MRO, or raw materials is advantageous. Strong negotiation and contract management skills for high-spend commodities. Knowledge of inventory management, commodity matrix management, and SAP (Materials Management). Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities. Ability to develop creative sourcing strategies and deliver on savings and KPIs. Ideal for candidates with 35 years experience in relevant commodity categories without people-management responsibilities.
