Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in cost engineering, cost control, or project controls, ideally within the industrial or petrochemical sector.
- Strong knowledge of cost management software and tools (e.g., SAP, Primavera, CostX) and proficiency with Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
- Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).
Beneficial requirements:
- Familiarity with industry-standard cost estimating methodologies and best practices.
- Proven ability to interpret and analyze complex technical data, contracts, and project documentation.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring that project costs remain within approved budgets.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for various project stages, from initial conceptual design through to final construction and commissioning.
- Work closely with project management, procurement, and engineering teams to forecast costs accurately and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Perform regular cost variance analyses, reporting any deviations from the budget, and recommending corrective actions.
- Track project expenditures and resource allocations, ensuring all financial transactions align with project scope and budget.
