Job Summary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost engineering, cost management, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive in identifying issues and developing practical solutions.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or similar) are a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, considering all phases from design to execution.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, monitoring expenditures and ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis throughout the project lifecycle, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present regular cost reports to project managers and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and financial performance.
  • Create and maintain cost forecasts, updating projections based on project progress and changes.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather necessary data for accurate cost assessments.
  • Evaluate the cost impact of project changes and assist in developing strategies for managing those changes.
  • Identify potential cost-related risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize financial impact.
  • Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, budgets, and expenditures for auditing and compliance purposes.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of cost management processes and tools.
