Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Electrical Marine Surveyor. The surveyor will be responsible for conducting comprehensive audits on offshore vessels, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently in challenging offshore environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough audits of electrical systems on various offshore vessels, including DP classed vessels and those with DP capabilities.
- Evaluate the performance and functionality of control systems, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review and verify documentation, including FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), DP manuals, and operational procedures.
- Identify and report deficiencies or non-compliance issues, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Collaborate with vessel crews and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure effective communication throughout the audit process.
- Prepare detailed audit reports, including findings, conclusions, and recommendations, and present them to clients and management.
- Stay updated with the latest industry standards, regulations, and technological advancements related to control systems.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to maintain and enhance auditing skills and technical knowledge.
Qualifications
- Electrical Engineer Degree or Diploma, or
- Mechatronics Degree or Diploma, or
- ETO diploma, or
- Chief Engineer Diploma, or
- Certified DP Operator (DPO) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of DP systems and vessel control systems, including hardware, software, and operational procedures.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association) guidelines and MTS (Marine Technology Society) DP standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Experience
- Minimum 2 Years working on vessels, DP Vessels will be of advantage.
- Fault finding or maintenance experience on vessels operating in the oil & gas industry.
- Performed upgrades or installations on a DP System or Vessel Control systems

Skills
- Reading and interpreting Electrical and Mechanical drawings.
- Excellent reporting skills.
- Microsoft office
- Leadership and good communicational skills.
Expectations
- Willingness to travel extensively, often to remote and offshore locations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple audits simultaneously.
