Hospitality and Outdoor- New Vacancy – General Manager 5* Boutique Hotel – Midlands, Kwazulu-Natal An exciting new position has opened up for an exceptionally experienced General Manager who can manage and exceed 5* standards. Requirements · A business degree, hotel or hospitality management qualification (very beneficial) · Have a minimum of 10 years hospitality experience, of which at least 5 years should have been at a senior operations management level- lodge/resort or boutique hotel experience preferred · Must have strong luxury 4/5* hospitality experience in remote settings- understands how to trouble shoot in this environment. · Excellent people’s person for staff and guests- Is a real part of the team on every level. · Excellent communication skills in English- Written and Verbal. Zulu would be extremely beneficial · Hard working and passionate- understands hospitality hours and pressure and must relish the challenge of a job well done. · Strong financial acumen- Able to complete the full daily financial function- reports, budgets, debtors, creditors, forecasts, etc · Strong leadership skills with critical attention to detail in standards · Excellent overall knowledge in 5* hotel operations- F&B, Housekeeping, FOH etc · Experience in Sales and Marketing- Can drive a creative concept forward and market on all relevant platforms · Experience in Health and Safety Compliance and can manage the full function of the HR department with legislation compliance · Hands on, leads from the front type- Sets the example for the other staff and creates a great working environment · must have excellent contactable references Key Responsibilities · Ensures the smooth running of the hotel, where all areas of the business are managed and the guest service experience is delivered to the highest levels · Works with key stakeholders, effectively manages and reviews the life cycle of the team within the hotel, fostering a culture of growth, development and performance · Driver of the hotel budget, business and sales plan, ensuring that all areas of the business are controlled. · Maximizing sales and profit, business opportunities and brand reputation, productivity and performance · Ensures adherence and compliance to all legislation where due diligence requirements and best practice activities are planned, delivered and documented for internal and external audit, performing follow-up as required · Proven experience in general management with strong problem-solving capabilities · Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style · Commitment to exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry · Ability to find creative solutions, offering advice and recommendations · Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy · Experienced in using IT systems on various platforms Package on offer · Salary: R45 000 – R55 000 D.O.E · Excellent Onsite Accommodation (a standalone house) · Other excellent benefits to be discussed Starting Date: ASAP
