South Africa: Horticultural Graduate

The Maturity Laboratory conducts fruit quality related testing by means of physical and chemical analysis, including Fruit Size by Cranston Gauge, Fruit Weight, Fruit Firmness by Penetrometer, Total Soluble Solids by Refractometer, Total Acid by Titration, and pH. The analyst will monitor fruit maturity to advise producers on accurate picking windows and storability. The graduate will be working in the Maturity Laboratory during the season and the pesticide laboratory during the off season. Key Requirements: The ideal candidate should be a recent graduate with a qualification in Horticulture or similar.
