Job Summary
A leading manufacturing and processing company in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking 2 Instrument Technicians to join its maintenance team at a high-performance production facility. This role will focus on ensuring the reliability, calibration, fault-finding, and installation of advanced instrumentation systems within a complex industrial network.
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Trade Test in Instrumentation (N6 / T3 / S4 Light Current)
- 3 – 5 years experience in a mechanical and technical instrumentation environment
- Experience with DCS Systems (Siemens PCS7 preferred, but not essential)
- Proficiency in Computer Literacy & Instrumentation Software
- Valid Code B Drivers License & Own Transport (Required for Standby Duties)
- Willingness to work overtime when required
Key
Responsibilities:
- Instrumentation System Reliability: Develop and execute maintenance programs to ensure optimal system performance
- Technical Drawing & Programming: Oversee and prepare complex drawings and programming codes for instrumentation systems
- Fault Finding & Calibration: Conduct advanced diagnostics, repairs, and calibrations to maintain system accuracy
- Standards & Compliance: Ensure specifications and industry standards are adhered to during installations and maintenance
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze and eliminate recurring instrumentation errors by identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions
- Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance and knowledge-sharing for decision-making processes and planning
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and system modifications.
