About the Role

A luxury safari lodge in Welgevonden, Limpopo, South Africa is seeking a highly experienced General Manager / Lodge Manager or a management couple to oversee full lodge operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences in a remote, high-end safari environment. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, operational oversight, and a hands-on management approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure high standards across accommodation, food, service, and guest experience
  • Oversee maintenance, logistics, and operational systems
  • Manage lodge budgets, forecasting, and cost control in conjunction with head office
  • Monitor stock, procurement, and asset management
  • Drive operational efficiencies and quality control
  • Lead; coach, and develop all department heads and staff
  • Foster a positive, professional, and accountable team culture
  • Actively host guests, including VIPs, agents, and media where required
  • Oversee guest activities, special requests, and overall experience delivery

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years senior luxury lodge management experience
  • Strong financial, operational, and HR management background
  • Proven leadership and people development skills
  • Experience in luxury hospitality environments
  • Excellent communication and guest-facing ability
  • One or both partners with strong General Manager / Lodge Manager experience for Management Couples
  • Second partner with experience in FOH; Duty Management, or Lodge Operations for Management Couples

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years senior luxury lodge management experience
  • Relevant hospitality or tourism qualification advantageous

Salary & Benefits

R50,000 R60,000 (Negotiable DOE), combined live-in position
