About the Role
A luxury safari lodge in Welgevonden, Limpopo, South Africa is seeking a highly experienced General Manager / Lodge Manager or a management couple to oversee full lodge operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences in a remote, high-end safari environment. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, operational oversight, and a hands-on management approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high standards across accommodation, food, service, and guest experience
- Oversee maintenance, logistics, and operational systems
- Manage lodge budgets, forecasting, and cost control in conjunction with head office
- Monitor stock, procurement, and asset management
- Drive operational efficiencies and quality control
- Lead; coach, and develop all department heads and staff
- Foster a positive, professional, and accountable team culture
- Actively host guests, including VIPs, agents, and media where required
- Oversee guest activities, special requests, and overall experience delivery
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years senior luxury lodge management experience
- Strong financial, operational, and HR management background
- Proven leadership and people development skills
- Experience in luxury hospitality environments
- Excellent communication and guest-facing ability
- One or both partners with strong General Manager / Lodge Manager experience for Management Couples
- Second partner with experience in FOH; Duty Management, or Lodge Operations for Management Couples
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years senior luxury lodge management experience
- Relevant hospitality or tourism qualification advantageous
Salary & Benefits
R50,000 R60,000 (Negotiable DOE), combined live-in position
