This position requires a dynamic and experienced hospitality professional to oversee and coordinate all guest-facing and operational departments within a high-end safari lodge environment. As a key member of the leadership team, the Operations Manager ensures smooth daily operations, supports departmental heads, and maintains the highest standards of service, safety, and guest satisfaction. The role demands strong leadership, financial acumen, and a hands-on approach to managing guest experience, particularly at a flagship lodge. It also involves strategic planning, staff development, and close collaboration with senior management to drive performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the operation. Areas of Responsibility · Operational Leadership & Departmental Oversight · Financial Management & Performance · Guest Experience & Service Excellence · Strategic Planning & Report Writing · Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Requirements · 5 years minimum experience in a similar senior role at a 5* bush-based property. · Proven leadership and people management skills, with experience in developing and motivating diverse teams. · Strong financial acumen and computer literacy · Experience with monthly financial reporting and budgeting essential · Excellent communication, delegation, and interpersonal skills. · Commitment to delivering world-class guest experiences and upholding brand standards. · Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with senior leadership. · Familiarity with compliance, health & safety, and labour regulations in the hospitality sector. · Passionate about sustainable tourism and conservation. · Stable employment history and contactable references.
