About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pest Controller to join our team at Greys Recruitment. As a Pest Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and pest-free environment of various buildings in South Africa. You will work closely with tenants, staff, and management to create a healthy and hygienic workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diarising to ensure monthly services & spraying is done in all buildings
  • Identifying cleanliness issues pertaining to the attraction of pests within the building and surrounding areas, and addressing the issue with the Cleaning Supervisor to rectify the problem and find a way forward.
  • Ensuring the fumigation booth is well manned, and the fumigation process is carried out effectively and efficiently – providing feedback once a month on how the process was and if any changes need to be made.
  • Assist staff in identifying filth dwellers who are contributing to pest issues.
  • Monitoring & ensuring correct usage & quantities of chemicals are used for the treatment of pests.
  • Liaising with HM to ensure the best, most effective products are sourced to treat & eradicate, if possible, pest issues
  • Educating tenants on the prevention of pests.
  • If you have a bed that is infested, you will need to contact the BM and PM – once the BM and PM finalise a decision, you will then ensure that the bed is removed from the building & axed
  • Washing & dryer to ensure its operational on the – working and in order – This is only for Pest Control
  • Monthly meeting with BM & 2IC
  • To identify potential and actual pest problems, conduct regular inspections, control the infestation of pests, or eradicate pests all together, if possible
  • Work directly with tenants & staff to create a healthy, hygienic, pest-free environment.

Requirements

  • Valid P-number registration with the Department of Agriculture (South Africa)
  • Proven experience as a Pest Controller or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of pest control chemicals, methods, and safety procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Physically fit and able to work in various environments (indoors, outdoors, confined spaces)
  • Ability to follow safety and compliance standards strictly

Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12
