Job Summary
Education Level: MEng or BEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering Location: Boland, Western Cape, South Africa Employment Type: Permanent, On-Site Experience Level: 2-5 years We are looking for a skilled and motivated Power Electronics Engineer to join a innovative division. As part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of high-performance electronic modules and IoT-driven hardware and software solutions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a key role in: Designing and developing power converter modules. Exploring innovative applications and developing new product concepts. Creating and implementing robust hardware solutions in alignment with ongoing development efforts. As a key member of our team, you will: Take ownership of projects, driving them from conception through to successful completion. Foster a positive team culture, contributing to collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Provide expertise and support to colleagues, ensuring the success of team initiatives. Help exceed client expectations through exceptional project delivery and teamwork. This role is perfect for a proactive, results-driven individual with a passion for electronic design and a commitment to excellence. Overall Purpose: Lead product development, design, testing, and production efforts. Manage project scope throughout the development lifecycle. Provide ongoing support for existing products and clients. Core Responsibilities Include: Electronic Hardware Design and Development: Capture project requirements and develop innovative solutions. Source components and create prototypes for high-volume production. Industrialize and commercialize designs for large-scale production. Design Validation and Qualification: Draft comprehensive test specifications and document results. Ensure designs meet project standards and are compliant with process (ISO9001:2015). Product Life Cycle Support: Provide technical support to clients and manage the product supply chain. Skills and Experience Required: Practical hands-on experience in power electronics design, prototyping, and testing. Expertise in hardware verification, debugging, and troubleshooting electronic circuits. Proficiency in using CAD software like Altium Designer or equivalent. Strong skills in MCU firmware development using C, C++, and version control tools (GitLab). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
