Lodge-Based Role: SENIOR FIELD GUIDE VACANCY Salary: R20,000 – R25,000 per month, depending on experience, Live in Location: Pilanesberg Private Concession, North West Province, South Africa Type of Property: Exclusive 5-star safari lodge Position Overview An exciting opportunity has opened for a Senior Field Guide at an exclusive luxury lodge situated in the Pilanesberg Private Concession. This is a hands-on, guest-focused guiding role, requiring an experienced professional with strong interpretive skills, exceptional hosting ability, and a passion for the natural environment. The role combines guided drives and bush walks (approximately 50% each) and is central to creating unforgettable safari experiences for discerning guests. Key Responsibilities Conduct guided game drives and interpretive bush walks, showcasing extensive knowledge of fauna, flora, and ecosystems. Deliver exceptional guest experiences in line with 5-star lodge standards. Ensure guest safety and comfort during all guided activities. Assist with lodge hosting duties, including guest interaction and creating a welcoming, professional environment. Maintain vehicles, rifles, and guiding equipment to required safety and operational standards. Support conservation, environmental, and sustainability initiatives within the lodge and reserve. Uphold lodge standards of professionalism, appearance, and conduct at all times. Minimum Requirements FGASA NQF 4 Field Guide qualification Lead Trails Guide qualification (essential). Current and valid PrDP (Professional Driver’s Permit) . Current rifle competency and up-to-date documentation. Valid First Aid Level 1 (minimum). At least 5 years’ experience working in 5-star lodges with international guests. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong knowledge of Big 5 territory and guiding in a luxury lodge environment. Package & Benefits Salary: R20,000 – R25,000 per month (DOE) .
