Job Title: Shipbuilding Design Engineer Location: Netherlands
Salary:
To be discussed in the Interview Vacancy Type: Full-Time Closing date: End Dec 2024 Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required: Education: Bachelors degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Experience: 1 – 10 years of experience in shipbuilding design, with expertise in one or more disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical, piping). Languages: Fluent in Afrikaans. Ideal age range for candidates: 2332 years. Beneficial requirements: Skills: Proficiency in shipbuilding design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino, NAPA, or other industry-specific tools). Solid understanding of shipbuilding materials, construction techniques, and maritime regulations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Personal Skills: Excellent teamwork and communication abilities, proactive problem-solving, and ability to work under tight deadlines. Duties and responsibilities: Design and develop structural, mechanical, electrical, or piping systems for shipbuilding projects. Ensure that designs comply with international maritime regulations, safety standards, and customer specifications. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including naval architects, structural engineers, and project managers. Perform calculations and simulations to ensure the integrity and performance of ship structures and systems. Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and reports as per project requirements.
