About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Accountant to join our team in Kimberley, South Africa. As part of our client portfolio, you will be assisting a manager in providing accounting, tax, and general advisory services to guarantee and surpass clients’ expectations of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and produce a trial balance
- Prepare and maintain fixed asset registers
- Account for transactions from source documents onto Xero software
- Perform tax and deferred tax computations
- Populates VAT returns and reconciliations and submits to Manager for review
- File returns and notify clients to make payments
- Follow-up with client to ensure payments were made
Requirements
- Enrolled in a BCom degree and/or equivalent accounting degree with the intention of completing SAIPA articles; or
- BCom degree and/or equivalent accounting degree, ready to commence with SAIPA Articles
- Proficient in English and Afrikaans
- Familiarity with XERO, Dext, and Hubdoc software
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a BCom degree and/or equivalent accounting degree with the intention of completing SAIPA articles; or
- BCom degree and/or equivalent accounting degree, ready to commence with SAIPA Articles
