About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our client’s team in Steelpoort. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mining/Process Project Engineering and excellent project management skills. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager in planning, executing, and closing out projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in planning, executing, controlling, and closing out projects
- Assist with project scoping, feasibility, specifications, and schedule development
- Coordinate with Plant Engineers, SMEs, EPCMs, contractors, and consultants
- Support tender processes including RFQs, site inspections, evaluations, and adjudications
- Monitor fabrication, construction, quality, progress, and cost performance
- Assist with SHE compliance, risk assessments, and site safety during construction
- Support cold commissioning, pre-commissioning, and handover activities
- Assist with documentation, technical closure, and final project close-out
- Contribute to governance, reporting, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- NHD / BSc / BTech Engineering (GCC preferred)
- Project Management Certificate or Diploma
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Mining/Process Project Engineering
- Strong multi-disciplinary exposure (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation)
- Proven experience supporting multiple concurrent projects
- Solid understanding of project planning, scheduling, execution, and close-out
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project (SAP advantageous)
- Good written, verbal, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Valid Certificate of Fitness and completion of site-specific induction
